Has anyone considered that the people that are NOT over there are over here because they didn’t LIKE it over there to start with?
What gives these people voices. It’s certainly not their numbers.
I’m not saying that Qaddafi is a good guy, but this is not our fight.
OUR, the WESTs, understanding of freedom comes from the faith that either we share or is similar enough that the values translate well. The basis of Christianity comes from Judaism. Islam doesn’t share the same CORE values.
Islam is, at it’s core, Conquest and Submission. It’s a house of horrors to all non believers.
Demonstrators Rally In Support Of Libyan People
Local Muslims Support Efforts To Oust Qaddafi
SAN ANTONIO — Holding signs and shouting “down with Qaddafi,” dozens of demonstrators rallied around the Federal building downtown, in an effort to show solidarity with the Libyan people.
Local Muslims said they support the protesters in Libya, and their efforts to oust long-time President Muammar Qaddafi, who has been in power more than 40 years.
“People, if they don’t like a president, they should be able to be able to change and to choose and elect. Not fake elections,” said Said Motawea, who is originally from Egypt.
Howaida Werfelli, whose family is originally from Libya, said the wave of protests across the Middle East are a reflection of the frustration people there feel after years of political oppression.
“People have decided it’s done. It’s too long that they’ve lived under an oppressive regime,” said Werfelli. “They’ve lived without basic human rights, they’ve lived without jobs, they’ve lived without food.”
Werfelli said it was important for her to show solidarity with the Libyan people, even though she lives in the United States.
