Iran – Barbaric justice – Eye for eye and ear for ear. Shariah is uncivilized and an inhumane Law which ISLAM dictates

Barbaric is only the tip of what I think about this.

Eye for an eye, ear for an ear in Iran court

A court in Iran has ordered a man to lose an eye and an ear as punishment for blinding another man and burning his ear in an acid attack.

The man told the court he mistook the man for a former classmate who had bullied him at school.

Under Iran’s eye-for-an-eye justice code he was ordered to lose an eye and an ear and pay blood money for the injuries inflicted on the other man.

There have been other similar cases in Iran.

Last month a court upheld a sentence of blinding with acid against another man convicted of blinding his lover’s husband.

And last year a man was sentenced to be blinded in both eyes for hurling acid in the face of a university classmate who had refused his proposal for marriage.

It is unclear whether the sentences were carried out.

  1. Emily Hutto says:

There seems to be a significant punishment gap between countries when it comes to acid violence. While perpetrators of the attacks lose eyes and ears in Iran, many in Cambodia and elsewhere have never been convicted of their crimes.

Khoun Sophal is one of these perpetrators. Her husband, the Undersecretary of State, had become romantically involved with a 16-year-old karaoke star, Tat Marina. When Sophal learned of the relationship, she sent a group of men to beat and scorch Marina with acid. Sophal threatened Marina and her family with violence if they reported the attack.

SpinFilm’s documentary Finding Face details the resulting fracturing of Marina’s family across national borders, as well as her family members’ disparate responses to the fact that Marina’s attackers have never been arrested and there has never been justice in her case.
