Madoff – Soho NEW YORK – Mark found hanged in apartment.

Amazing.

The government is the biggest ponzy scheme, but this schmuck is the only one to fry?

The big banks that PRACTICE these things ALL the time get NOTHING and this man and his family are ripped to shreds.

Yes, it’s wrong.  But how does one conduct ANY type of RIGHT business when the rules are different for different people?  Madoff screwed up.  But it’s not his conduct of business that got him in trouble.  See the link after the article below.  Madoff was suing a bunch of people.

His “ponzy” scheme is conducted everyday by the government.  The bail outs only CONTRIBUTED to the POT.

Mark’s hanging, in my opinion, is questionable.

One of Bernard Madoff’s sons was found dead Saturday of an apparent suicide, according to a law enforcement official.

Mark Madoff, 46, was found hanged in his apartment in Manhattan’s SoHo section, according to the official. A family member notified police around 7:30 a.m.

The official spoke to the AP on the condition of anonymity because he wasn’t allowed to speak publicly about the case.

Mark Madoff and his brother, Andrew, were under investigation but hadn’t faced any criminal charges in the massive Ponzi scheme that led to their father’s jailing.

Bernard Madoff swindled a long list of investors out of billions of dollars and is serving a 150-year prison term in North Carolina.

The scandal put a harsh light on members of the swindler’s family. The financier’s brother, Peter, played a prominent role in the family’s company. Mark and Andrew Madoff both worked on a trading desk at the firm, on a side of the business that wasn’t directly involved in the Ponzi scheme.

A year ago, the court-appointed trustee trying to unravel Madoff’s financial affairs sued several members of the family, including the brothers, accusing them of failing to detect the fraud while living lavish lifestyles financed with the family’s ill-gotten fortune.

The lawsuit accused Mark Madoff of using $66 million he received improperly to buy luxury homes in New York City, Nantucket and Connecticut.

In February, Mark Madoff’s wife petitioned a court to change her last name, saying her family had gotten threats and was humiliated by the scandal.

A call to Mark Madoff’s attorney and his father’s attorney was not immediately returned Saturday. Calls to the FBI and U.S. Attorney’s office were also not immediately returned.

he did hang himself. how on earth is that questionable? I buy it. A 40 something year old son, turns in his dad, ruined his entire family, becomes fed up with the blame from his family members –who can no longer live their lives like they once did, can’t stand living anymore with nothing left to live for, and outs himself. I would think anyone and everyone would buy it. plus nothing points to any other direction. paranoia much?

And as for “banks” doing the same thing… once a person puts a PENNY in the bank, they know that the bank uses it for other things — how the hell else can banks afford to give mortgages and loans and credit cards?? Anyone who took a basic Economy class in high school (as is mandatory in NYC schools for seniors) KNOWS THIS. banks don’t just sit on peoples savings accounts for the sake of the people — heck how the hell else do people get interest? what? is that simply the banks gift to you? hell no, its your money working for the bank, then the bank gives you a dividend.. albeit a small one (hell if you want a big one, be a broker or a loanshark and work your own money! or open a few atm machines in deserted places with a high fee) and banks make you sign papers when you open any sort of account for a reason — read the fine print.

how exactly is the government a “ponzy scheme”?

“he’s the only one to fry”
who the hell told him to kill himself? I’m sure his mommy didn’t say “go kill yourself son” .. he couldn’t stand being the black sheep in his family, and like other suicide victims, he probably thought suicide was the only way out (the cowards way out)
