ITALY – Vatican City – MAY, I say, MAY intervene in the IRANIAN Stoning of Woman

The Pope and the Vatican have become NOTHING.

They have been neutralized due to their recent history of dishonesty and immorality. The TRUTH has been replaced by the avant garde of POLITICAL CORRECTNESS.

The POPE and the Catholics need to look at this very seriously.

Will the POPE concede?  Have the Catholics abandoned the Vatican or has the Vatican abandoned the people?

They have done nothing to ADVANCE morality (Catholic version) nor to speak reselutely regarding current events.  The ONLY thing that they have been engaged in in recent history is shielding their own ORGANIZATION from scandle.

That is not a good foundation for a moral stance.

They need to begin a hard and fast pruning of themselves and execute judgment without the political correct juggernaut that overwhelms their ability to function.  If they do not do this soon then their existence will be questionable in the new WORLD CALIPHATE.

Judgment is necessary.

If you have 2 apples in your hand.  One is fresh and crisp and the other is brown, soft, and has a bad oder.  Which apple would you extend to your child?

Another word for JUDGEMENT is DISCRIMINATION.  Discrimination used to be a sign of wisdom.   Wisdom to  judge correctly was deemed a gift from G-d.  The PEOPLE levy power to those who are perceived as righteous judges.  Judges that were evil were at one time flogged.

The power of the judges is from “THE PEOPLE”, yet today it seems that only the POWERFUL count as the voice of the people.

The VATICAN is not exempt from the corruption of power of the living.  The corruption from the WORLD has found a seed in the VATICAN.  The POPE should recognize it lay it foul. Then, let it rest, and finally choose some new seed.

The Vatican has suggested it was open to intervening in the case of a woman in Iran who was sentenced to death by stoning.

The Vatican has suggested it was open to intervening in the case of a woman in Iran who was sentenced to death by stoning.

The Vatican may reach out to help an Iranian woman sentenced to death by stoning.

A statement by the Catholic Church criticized the “brutal” practice, and said the church was aware of the woman’s plight.

The Holy See is following this affair with attention and commitment,” Vatican spokesman Federico Lombardi said in a statement, after being asked about the matter by journalists.

Although no formal appeal has been made to the Vatican to intervene, he said, it is possible that the church could step in — should someone ask.

“When the Holy See is asked, in an appropriate way, to intervene in humanitarian issues with the authorities of other countries, as it has happened many times in the past, it does so not in a public way, but through its own diplomatic channels,” Lombardi said in the statement.

The woman’s son, Sajad, told the Italian news agency Adnkronos that he was appealing to Pope Benedict XVI and to Italy to work to stop the execution. But Lombardi told the Associated Press that no formal appeal had reached the Vatican.

The Catholic Church has stood against the death penalty since the 1990s, when Pope John Paul II came out strongly against the practice.

“Modern society in fact has the means of effectively suppressing crime by rendering criminals harmless without definitively denying them the chance to reform,” he wrote in 1995.

Sakineh Mohammadi Ashtiani, a mother of two, was convicted of adultery in 2006, for which she received 99 lashes. She was accused of having an affair with two different men, but her husband was reportedly already dead at the time.

Ashtiani was later tried and convicted again for adultery, but Iranian officials said she was also convicted for the murder of her husband, which resulted in a sentence of death by stoning.

“Sakineh Mohammadi Ashtiani has not been convicted of illicit sex only,” Malek Ejdar Sharifi, head of East Azerbaijan Province‘s judiciary, told the official Islamic Republic News Agency.

“She has been found guilty of numerous and extremely heavy offenses. She was sentenced to capital punishment [in 2006] in the criminal court in Tabriz, the center of the province, for committing murder, manslaughter and adultery.”

That sentence, however, has been postponed in light of the international outcry.

It is unclear what chances any Vatican bid would have to persuade the Muslim nation to spare the woman’s life. Brazil, which has friendly relations with Iran, was rebuffed when it offered her asylum.
